A ‘why didn’t I think of that?’ moment

I’ve just read an article which tidily seems to bring together some of the learning theories which form a sound basis for teaching with social learning technologies – actually for teaching generally, whether or not we use SLT.

The article proposes a theory which the author calls SCCS or social and cognitive connectedness schemata. It’s not new but a combo of some of the other theories we’ve been reading and discussing in our blogs. The nice thing is that discussion of the theory is followed by a description of a course unit in which the author tried it out and evaluated effectiveness, so you get a clear picture of both theory and practice.
